Recorded at BBC Maida Vale Studio 4 on 19 January 1992 (track 1) and 12 December 1983 (track 4); BBC Langham Studio 1 on 24 March 1981 (track 2); BBC Maida Vale Studio 5 on 14 May 1985 (tracks 3 & 5).

A mixture of tracks from various John Peel sessions - track 1 from session 15, first broadcast on BBC radio 1 on 15 February 1992; track 2 from session 4, first broadcast on BBC radio 1 on 31 March 1981; tracks 3 & 5 from session 8, first broadcast on BBC radio 1 on 3 June 1985; track 4 from session 7, first broadcast on BBC radio 1 on 3 January 1984. Kimble is a Lee Perry cover. The Hassle Schmuk portion of track 2 was based on an old dance song, The Hucklebuck.
